Flat Fold Is the Quietest Statement

First, flat fold shows the fabric pattern without interruption. Inside Mount vs Outside Mount
Inside mount tucks the shade into the window casing. It needs 3 inches of frame depth and the shade width is cut 1/4 inch narrower than the opening so it slides in clean. The look is built in, minimal, almost invisible when raised.
Outside mount sits on the wall or trim above the window. You add 2 to 4 inches to width and 10 to 12 inches to height so the fabric overlaps the frame and kills side light.

Care Without Fear
The fabric panel is removable. Hand wash in warm water after taking out the support rods. Do not cut the cords, do not tug the back mechanism, do not operate the shade before the headrail is mounted, or the internal cords tangle. That last point is the one customers miss. Install first, then lift.
Dusting between washes is a vacuum brush on low or a soft cloth. No dry cleaning needed for most face fabrics.
