New Arrival: Bram Diamond Faux Cashmere Curtains – Vintage Old Money Style

July 20, 2026
You might think faux cashmere belongs only to winter. We thought so too, until we finished developing Bram.
This is Homerilla's newest addition. It brings a diamond woven pattern, a soft brushed handfeel, and something you do not see often in summer curtains: texture with weight.
Let us walk you through why Bram works for warm weather, why faux cashmere makes sense year round, and how the old money aesthetic fits right into your living room, study, or bedroom.

Diamond Pattern: Geometry That Stays Quiet

The pattern on Bram is a continuous diamond motif woven into the fabric using jacquard technique. It is not printed, not embossed, not glued on. The diamonds rise slightly from the base cloth, creating a subtle play of light and shadow when sunlight hits the folds.
Why diamond instead of plain weave or stripes?
Diamond patterns have a long history in European and Asian textile traditions. They suggest structure without shouting. In an old money interior, nothing should scream for attention. The furniture speaks, the art speaks, the architecture speaks. The curtain should hold its own quietly. Bram does exactly that.
From a distance, it reads as textured solid. Up close, you see the repeating rhombus shapes. This dual reading is what makes it work in both minimalist and traditional settings.

Faux Cashmere in Summer: Yes, It Works

Let us address the elephant in the room. Faux cashmere sounds like a cold weather fabric. But here is the reality.
Summer curtains do not have to be thin. In fact, lightweight sheers let in too much heat and glare in many climates. What you want in summer is a curtain that blocks solar radiation while still breathing. Faux cashmere, made from fine denier acrylic blends, offers exactly that.
Here is what Bram brings regardless of season:
  • Soft, velvety handfeel that mimics real cashmere without the price tag
  • Natural drape with body, not flimsy or floaty
  • Good dimensional stability, no sagging after hanging
  • Excellent color saturation, deep tones without fading
  • Wrinkle resistance, less ironing needed
  • Machine washable and easy to maintain
  • No moth damage, no mildew, unlike real wool or cashmere
In summer, Bram acts as a thermal buffer. The plush structure traps a thin layer of air between the window and the room. This slows down heat transfer from the glass. Paired with a blackout lining option, it keeps the room noticeably cooler during peak afternoon sun.
And because it is faux cashmere, not real cashmere, you do not have to worry about humidity, insects, or delicate dry cleaning routines. It handles summer just fine.

Old Money Aesthetic: What It Means for Curtains

Old money style is not about logos, trends, or seasonal flash. It is about materials that last, colors that do not shout, and proportions that feel inherited rather than bought new.
Bram fits this philosophy in several ways.
The pattern is classic, not trendy. Diamond motifs appear in heritage textile archives across Europe and Asia. They do not belong to any single decade. A Bram curtain hung today will still look appropriate ten years from now.
The handfeel signals quality without labeling. When someone walks into your room and touches the curtain, they feel density and softness. There is no brand name visible. The fabric speaks for itself.
The color palette stays restrained. Bram launches in four old money friendly shades:
  • Oatmeal Light Grey, a warm neutral that works with oak, walnut, and limestone
  • Caramel Warm Brown, rich but not aggressive, pairs well with leather and brass
  • Mist Deep Grey, smoky and architectural, good for studies and formal living rooms
  • Pearl Ivory, creamy without being yellow, a safe choice for bedrooms
None of these colors chase a micro trend. They sit comfortably in a room with antique furniture, modern art, or both.

Safety and Certification: Same Standard, No Compromise

Bram carries OEKO TEX Standard 100 certification across all colors and sizes.
Faux cashmere is synthetic based, but the chemicals used in dyeing, antistatic finishing, and dimensional stabilization are what matter for indoor air quality and skin contact. We tested Bram against the full list of regulated substances including formaldehyde, extractable heavy metals, banned azo dyes, and phthalates. Results came back well below limits.
For baby rooms, pregnancy households, or chemically sensitive individuals, Bram is safe to hang without airing out periods.
Also, do not be afraid of acrylic or polyester in the blend. In faux cashmere, these fibers provide softness retention, pilling resistance, and wash durability. Natural fibers alone cannot match this performance profile in a curtain that sees daily sun exposure.

Customization and Pricing: The Same Transparent Rules

Bram follows the same ordering process as all Homerilla curtains.
  • Curtains are sold without rods or tracks. You can add them from our selection in the same order. S fold wave curtains include matching tracks.
  • Curtain rings are included free with curtains. Hooks are included free with tracks. Extra hooks for non standard pleating can be purchased separately if needed.
  • Labor is included in the fabric price. Grommet, pinch pleat, pencil pleat, and rod pocket styles all carry no additional making up fees.
  • Linings are selected during the ordering flow. You choose whether to add one and which type. You only pay for the lining material itself.
  • Standard shipping is free. Express upgrade is available. We do not send our own installers. You arrange a local handyman, which gives you flexibility on cost and timing.
  • No hidden upgrade packages. No surprise add ons during checkout. What you select is what we make.
New product, same transparency.

Is Bram Right for Your Home?

Here is a simple guide.
Your living room needs a curtain with presence but not pattern overload. Choose Oatmeal Light Grey or Pearl Ivory.
Your bedroom wants a cocoon feeling with warmth. Choose Caramel Warm Brown and add a blackout lining.
Your study or entryway could use a touch of vintage character. Choose Mist Deep Grey for a moody, architectural look.
Your home already has solid colored curtains everywhere and feels flat. Pick one room for Bram and leave the rest solid. The contrast will elevate both.
Order a Bram swatch first. Faux cashmere is a tactile material. Photos show the diamond pattern but not the brushed surface. Once you touch it, you will understand why we launched it in summer.
